Titellåten till Gilmore girls heter "Where you lead I will follow" och är skriven av
Toni Stern. Den
framförs av Carole King och hennes dotter Louise Goffin. Det var först tänkt att låten
"Everyday is a winding road" med Sheryl Crow skulle vara titellåten och den var med i
pilotavsnittet men den sändes inte utan första avsnittet hade "Where you lead" istället.
Amy Sherman-Palladino, skaparen av Gilmore girls, frågade Carole om hon ville spela in
en ny version av 70-talslåten med en av hennes döttrar. Hon tittade på pilotavsnittet
och sa absolut. Carole är också med i serien i slutet av säsong 2, hon spelade kvinnan
som öppnade en musikaffär där Lane fick träna att spela trummor.
